Nollywood Girl-Child Defenders Awards Holds This Sunday, August 14
This Sunday, August 14, 2016, all roads would be leading to the ultra-modern Royal Event Centre, the new venue for the much anticipated Nollywood Girl-Child Defenders Awards and the premiere of the movie ‘Reality,’ which chronicles the travails of the Nigerian Girl-Child in a very detailed and most revealing cinematic plot.
Viewtrends Entertainment Ltd, the organizers of the Nollywood Girl-Child Defenders Awards and producers of ‘Reality’ are said to be ready to host the crème la d crème of the movie industry, the music industry, captains of industries, government functionaries and the general public who have been waiting for this epochal event.
As is the norm, this 2nd edition of the Nollywood Girl-Child Defenders Awards will recognize and celebrate notable Girl-Child rights activists and advocates, the clergy, civil societies and corporate organizations for their individual and corporate contributions towards the empowerment and welfare of the Nigerian Girl-Child.
Some of the recipients of the awards includes; Mr. Bolaji Dawodu, a foremost film-maker and director of note, Stephanie Okereke, an accomplished Nigerian movie star and Child Rights Activist, Hon. Lola Akande, Honorable Commissioner of Women Affairs, Lagos State, Pastor Wole Oladiyun of CLAM, a prominent preacher of the Word and unassuming philanthropist, Nollywood greats like Tonto Dike, Iyabo Ojo, and Ifeoma Okeke. Others are Chief Tobenna Anumaka, a renowned businessman and philanthropist, Hon. Chuks Nneji, a politician and Child Rights advocate, Alozie Uzoukwu, GM Silverbird Television, Moji Danisa, prominent journalist and Onche Bishop Odeh of Daily Independent Newspapers and renown entertainment powerhouse and media conglomerate HF Media, amongst others. A special post-humous award shall be presented to the family of the late silver screen icon Bukky Ajayi, who died recently.
The ultra-modern Royal Event Centre which is beside Lagos Airport Hotel on Awolowo Way, Ikeja, Lagos, is a state-of-the arts edifice specifically built for events such as this and has all the facilities needed to make a great event.
